ANOTHER DAY TO BREAK THE CHAINS Well another day is about to dawn. The eastern horizon is starting to have a beautiful blue glow with a golden shimmer in the center. The air is crisp and clean with a very pleasant aroma. The fragrance is that of early spring. I take note of all the different species of birds greeting each other good morning. I observed a small Sparrow as it lands in the drive way and how it is eating sand to help with the digestion of whatever it will be enticed with for breakfast. How small a creature this is. How it reminds me of how the Lord keeps his eye even on this little fellow. I sit back in my rocker and take another sip of coffee. I begin to think of the things that have to be done today. Some of the tasks at hand are the things that I was not able to accomplish yesterday. Either because of procrastination or lack of time. I reflect on some of the personal goals I have set for myself. I begin to ask myself why some of these goals were not lived up to yesterday. I have to ask myself if maybe I have set my goals to high, expect to have them achieved in too short of time. I start to become frustrated and think about whether these things can even come to pass. I remember a Scripture, Proverbs 3: 5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your Heart, lean not on your own understanding. But in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. After reading this scripture I went to the Lord in earnest Prayer. I became aware that to “Trust in the Lord” means just that. Seek council in the scriptures. Pray and the Lord will give you insight through the Holy Spirit on how and what to do in your particular situation that you may be facing at this present time or in the near future. You may ask yourself, but this makes no sense to me. “Lean not on your own understanding”. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. You may say to yourself “Common sense says this is crazy”. But common sense is just that “Common Sense”. This type of logic is available to everyone to a certain extent. Once we become Born Again, through the Blood of Jesus Christ, we then have the Holy Spirit which far surpasses any “Common Sense”. By following the Leading of the Spirit we will accomplish what we have set out to do as long as it coincides with the will of the Lord for what is best for us. We need to analyze if we have set our goals to high. Set the time frame in a realistic time period. Next week we will discuss the difference between Proclaiming and Acknowledging the Lord. Till then I hope the Lord Keeps and Blesses you as you travel this life's pathways William A Tyler Sr |
