I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.
The Gospel is not the gospel of men, but the gospelof God. By it, the revealed truth of God's love is manifested and judgment onsin is sure and the certain defeat of death and the devil. There is nothing in time or eternity morecertain than what Jesus Christ accomplished on the Cross.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is groundzero for humanity and eternity. God the Father made redemption throughthe blood of His only Begotten Son the foundation by which we stand reconciledunto HIM. There is no hopefor anyone apart from the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the pressing issue between God andhumanity.
1. the teachings of Jesus and the apostles; the Christian revelation.
2.the story of Christ's life and teachings, especially as contained in thefirst four books of the NewTestament, namely Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
3.( usually initial capital letter ) any of these four books.
4.something regarded as true and implicitly believed: to take his reportfor gospel.
5.a doctrine regarded as of prime importance: political gospel.
There is only one position in which we are right with God, and that isin Christ Jesus by virtue of His atoning work at the cross. He came tothis world to destroy the work of Satan and the power of sin. Sin is a matterof reality that breads the lie that we are sufficient in ourselves. It is thevery fact of sin that explains why Christ came to this world; and sin is theexplicit cause of all sorrow and death. Yet, it is in Jesus Christ onlythat death, sin and Satan are defeated... thus, the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes everything for the redeemed.
The heart of reality is the Gospel ofJesus Christ. It is not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that changes people, but the power of the gospel of Christ. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is notan experience separate from Christ; it is the evidence of Christ in you. More than anything, the lack of knowledge ofthe Gospel of Christ has done more to provoke Christians to substitute theGospel of Christ for religious and/or political causes. Beware, lest your preferences persuades your doctrinal belief and shipwrecks yourdevotion to Christ and His Gospel.
