The ABCs of a Healthy Relationship

The ABCs of a Healthy Relationship.

To begin this study we must first understand what a relationship actually is. In a person's life, with everyone they meet, there is some form of a relationship. There are working relationships, friendly relationships, and romantic relationships. Each relationship consists of different environments. The ABCs of a healthy relationship will apply to all realms of relationships, but the basic fundamentals of the ABCs that we will deal with today will basically be focused on a romantic relationship.
First we must understand and contemplate on why we need or want a relationship. So let's go back to the very beginning when God created Adam. No one knows and it is not specifically documented in Scripture on how long Adam was alive before Eve was created. Adam had a relationship with the animals, it is well documented in Scripture that he was capable of communicating with the animals. Adam was also able to speak to God directly and not through  a mediator So why did Adam become discontent, after all he was created in the image of God, but let us ask ourselves why did God create mankind in the first place? Man was created in his image so that God may have a relationship and fellowship with mankind. {Ephesians 1: 3-15.
The first thing to remember is that a relationship without Jesus Christ as the cornerstone will never be built on a solid foundation. It will simply be built on a bed of sand. {Matthew 7:24-28. So let us begin our study with the letter A. the letter A is the first letter which begins the American Alphabet. The letter A in this study is going to represent the word "Admiration". Admiration is the second stone and when I mention a stone this is a rock solid foundation of a healthy and nurturing relationship. The word" Admiration" in simple terms means to have respect, have high esteem, have great appreciation, to hold someone in high regard.
Next we will move on to the B. This is the second letter of the American alphabet but it will be the third stone in the rock foundation. The B will represent the word" Bestow" which means to present something, especially something of value. What may a person present into a relationship that is something of value. But let's make sure we understand that we are not talking about something of monetary value. We are talking about something that is even more valuable and desirable than monetary. Such things are nurturing ,teaching, loving, caressing, and understanding. Now this may sound a little bit like a relationship with the child but let us remember this, inside every grown man is a little boy and inside every woman is a little girl.
Pampering ,nurturing and the expression of love are the very essence of bestow.
The next letter in the alphabet and a healthy relationship is the letter C. The lector C represents a very critical aspect of a healthy relationship. There are four venues represented here. Christ as the head of the relationship, Commitment as the pledge to remain loyal. Communication which is a meaningful exchange of thoughts emotions and feelings. Communication can only be achieved when there is a connection between individuals. Communication can be exhibited by body language, eye movement and verbalization. One thing must be remembered in the area of communication. When there is communication going on, the fear of condemnation and judgment must be totally eliminated. Next under the C, comes the word Compromise which means in its trouble-free form is an agreement , understanding , settlement , terms , deal , [more]
trade-off , bargain , middle ground  happy medium , balance , give and takeconcession . It seems like there are lot of definitions of the word compromise, but they are all essential to a healthy and meaningful relationship. Communication is one of the hardest areas in a relationship when you have two individuals involved.
I hope this study may help you in your present or in a future relationship. If any of these areas have become stagnant I encourage you to seek counseling. Spend time in prayer as I know when it comes to relationships sometimes the things we try are useless but by the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit things can be resolved.
